8 years and 9 moves.
Our marriage has faced many obstacles.
A near divorce, a seemingly incurable illness, job losses, job transfers, financial crisis, disappointments and frustrations.... the list goes on.
But there's just one more thing, my marriage has seen God's grace and restoration.
I have seen it in action. God's power to scoop up the ugly, broken mess of our lives and transform it into something that gleams from within. His willingness to not only be near that worthless heap, but to draw it close to His heart and heal every scar and bruise.
Through the voices all around us that scream "You are not worthy", "You are not loved", "You are not wanted"...
God's voice whispers gently, "You are my child", "You are beloved", "You are desired".
In an instant He transforms that hollow shell of a life, a marriage, a heart, into a shining reflection of His love.
May His beauty shine through me and my life, my marriage, my words, my actions.
I am thankful for the peace that my relationship with Jesus has brought into my life
I am thankful for my Savior's willingness to have a relationship with someone as broken as I am.
I am thankful for His healing power in my life and my marriage.
What are you thankful for today?
Today I’m joining Lisa-Jo Baker and a wonderful community of ladies for Five Minute Friday.
Thank you for sharing your post.
ReplyDeleteMarriage is a beautiful thing, and it's even more beautiful when God is in the center of it. Through ups and downs, He will see you through.
God bless and have a great weekend!

Thank you Rhea! I am so glad to be able to share what God has done in my life... even with everything that we went through to have this testimony!
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
Hi Victoria! I am coming to you from FMF.
ReplyDeleteHow amazing that you can see God working in all those challenging, really hard times. These are really difficult situations, and you can see beauty and thanks in them. You are a real witness to grace.
Powerful post.
Peace in Christ,
Ceil
Thank you so much Ceil! Being thankful in every situation is not something that comes naturally to me... or to anyone, I don't think! But I am working on changing that! Thank you so much for stopping by!
DeleteI love this!! What a powerful testament to His faithfulness demonstrated thru your marriage. Thank you for sharing this - I'm glad I clicked over from FMF tonight =)
ReplyDeleteThank you Anna! I got to read your post last night, but couldn't comment for some reason! I'm heading back over there now :-)
DeleteReally enjoyed this.
ReplyDeleteThanks Denise!
DeleteI love you and your heart! God has definitely wrapped you up in His faithfulness and imparted beauty and grace into your marriage! Praise Him!
ReplyDeleteThank you friend! I know He has done the same for you. You have such a sweet, loving relationship with your husband. And together, your relationship with God is so wonderful to see!
Delete"His willingness to not only be near that worthless heap, but to draw it close to His heart and heal every scar and bruise." YES! I've experienced this. So thankful I stopped by from the Five Minute Friday. So thankful for the restoration of your marriage. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you have experienced His restoration and healing as well! As much as I wish people didn't HAVE to go through times of trial and suffering, the blessings and love that comes through those times is worth it!
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
I love to hear about marriages being restored!
ReplyDeleteSo much beauty! Thank you for sharing such a tender working of grace.
ReplyDeleteOh so much loveliness here... seeing God restore all... so much Amen. Love your words friend and thank you for sharing so openly here.
ReplyDeleteI think many can relate to your story. In our 12th year of marriage, we had moved 12 times. We married 16 years ago for one simple reason- I was pregnant. But like your story, God has done the unthinkable in us. He does a work no expects and no one else could do. Thanks for sharing. Today I'm seeing His blessings and beauty in a healing husband and a half-started kitchen remodel :) Visiting from FMF.
ReplyDeleteHi Stephanie! I am so glad to hear that God has worked in your marriage in such a big way.
DeleteI look back at all that hardship and know that without it, there is no way that we would be as nauseatingly happy as we are now. Thank you for stopping by!
Beautiful story of God's grace and mercy.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I am so thankful for that too. The Beauty of Christ that can transform even the ugliest in me. Beauty from ashes. Good words. Have a blessed day.
