Day 199 - Focus

Today was a busy day.

Between fighting this continuous headache over the last 3 days, all the cooking I'm doing on this new "diet", and the large alterations job I took this week, I was a little anxious about getting it all done!

But God granted me focus and a calm spirit today.

And not only did the headache go away, the cooking and alterations all got done, AND I was able to do a pretty thorough cleaning of my house.

Great day!

I am thankful for the blessing of focus I was granted today.

I am thankful that my sewing machine didn't cause any issues while I was sewing.

I am thankful that since everything was finished today, tomorrow can be one more day to relax before school starts again.

Day 198 - The Murphy Bed

Ok y'all, I have been terribly remiss in my duties as a proud wife!

My husband built the most amazing Murphy bed known to man. Not only is it gorgeous, but it got rave reviews over Christmas as being extremely comfy.

And I haven't even posted any pictures yet!! So here is a barrage of photos from the process!

It took about 4 days total work time to built and install. It is about 8 feet tall and fits a queen size mattress.

You can buy the plans and mechanism to build your own here.

I'm so in love with this new wall feature and (much to my husband's joy as you can imagine) I have set many additional tasks for him to complete over the next year!

I love that our little apartment is really turning into a home.

For so long we were used to moving every 3-6 months... as a result, we never really decorated. But we've now been in this apartment for 19 months and things are finally starting to feel warm and cozy.

My sweet mother in law kept raving about how warm and inviting our home was. Which makes me want to do even more and I can't wait!

I am thankful that I have a husband who is willing to take on new skills and projects.

I am thankful that we have gotten to be here for so long.

I am thankful that we are able to take the opportunity to really turn this place into a home.

Day 197 - Keep Calm...

Not 30 minutes after I posted of the joys of not having a headache... the big mother of all headaches set in.

Nearly 24 hours later and it's just now starting to subside.

Thank God for Advil or I would still be in bed.

BUT, the headache is going away and I'm starting to feel really great! I'm so glad to be getting rid of all the nasty toxins that have built up in my body over the last year.

I am thankful that my husband knows that my bad mood had nothing to do with him, and that he is always willing to forgive my short tone when I'm in pain.

I am thankful that I have access to painkillers (both conventional and unconventional).

I am thankful that I know this will probably be over very soon!

Day 196 - Tiny Tuesday {No Headache}

Today is the first day of the newest attempt to get rid of Candida.

I don't want to jinx it, but so far so good!

It may seem silly to be excited about the first 5 hours going well... but trust me, it's a big deal.

Normally at this point I would be writhing around in pain with a terrible headache or something.

But not this time.

God please let this be it. Please let this be the time that works. Please fortify us against all the things that would tempt us and cause us to fail.

I am so weary of failed attempts that I don't know if I could pick myself up again if this doesn't work.

Please continue to pray for us!

I am thankful that I have no "detox headache" to deal with currently.

I am thankful that everything on this Candida cleanse is actually delicious... I mean really. I get to eat as much bacon as I want?? Can't be all that bad :-)

I am thankful that this is the first day of my reclaimed health.

Day 195 - New Beginnings... again.

Well, it's coming up on January 1st again.

That means that the husband and I are yet again gearing up to try some newfangled way to get rid of Candida.

It happens every year.

We are promised that this new whatsit will finally take care of our problem once and for all. And it will do it all in less than 3 months!

YAY!

I can't wait!!

6-9 months later, Candida is still raging. We get frustrated and ditch the program... sigh.

Then we spend the next 3 months trying to find something else to try and begin again in January.

So here's to this whatsit really doing the job.

All the prayers you can muster for us would be wildly appreciated.

I am thankful that I can ask prayers of those who care about us... and those reading this who have never even met me. Thank you!

I am thankful that despite MANY setbacks, we continue to have faith that this illness will NOT plague us for the rest of our lives.

I am thankful that I got all my grocery shopping and food prep done today. We begin tomorrow!
